Arrival and Departure

Clients may arrive up to 10 minutes before their scheduled start time. Please clean up and exit the studio promptly at the end of your booking. After your booking, you will have another 10-minute window to complete the Checkout Process.

A $10 per minute late fee will be charged to the card on file for any time spent in the studio beyond the 10-minute checkout window.

Respect for Others

Knocking on other studio doors is prohibited as it may disrupt sessions and violates guest privacy. Be mindful of other guests by maintaining a respectful noise level and avoiding loud music. Your booking only reserves the studio space and you are not allowed to use any other part of the building during your visit, as the studio is located inside a commercial building.

Studio and Equipment

To ensure the safety and longevity of our studio equipment and furniture, please adhere to the following rules. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in fines or charges for damages. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and high-quality studio environment.

  1. Do not stand on furniture. This can cause damage or pose a safety risk.
  2. Lift furniture when moving it; do not drag it across the floor to avoid scratches and damage.
  3. Handle all props and equipment with care to prevent breakage or malfunction
  4. Do not pull on paper backdrops. Use the provided remote control to lower or raise backdrops safely.
  5. Return all equipment and props to their original location after use.
  6. Report any damaged equipment or furniture immediately to avoid additional charges.

Rule Violations

The studio is monitored at all times by security cameras (see Security Camera Monitoring policy below for more information). If a rule violation is detected, a studio representative will contact you twice via the provided phone number. Failure to respond will result in an announcement over the studio’s speaker. Please keep your phone on and at an audible volume during your session.

There are multiple parking meters and a parking garage directly in front of the building entrance, as well as multiple surface parking lots around the building, Pricing for parking ranges from about $1 per hour to $10 per day.

1. The building doors lock on weekends and after 5 PM on weekdays. If locked, enter the code to enter the building on the black keypad left of the door.
2. Once inside, enter the elevator, enter the code on the keypad, and go to the fourth floor.
3. Go down the hall until you see the double doors with the Photoloft logo.
4. Enter the suite by entering your unique studio code on the keypad followed by the checkmark. The Light Loft will be the left door at the end of the lobby, which your studio code will also unlock.
5. As you enter the studio, please close all doors behind you.

Exiting the Studio

1. Ensure all furniture and props are put back in their original position.
2. Roll all backdrops back up and put the remote on the backroom hook.
3. Take any trash and/or props you brought with you if they don't fit in the provided trash can.
4. Close and lock ALL doors behind you as you leave, including the studio and lobby doors.

Restrooms

Restrooms are located outside the suite, next to the elevators. Please do NOT use them as changing or makeup rooms, as they are shared by all tenants on the floor.

Studio Tablet

A tablet beside the studio door controls all lights in the studio, shows you how much time is remaining in your session, gives you access to wifi, and provides you with checkout instructions.

Changing Room

The Light Loft includes a private changing room equipped with a full-length mirror, a rolling clothing rack, and a stool. This room contains no cameras and can only be locked from the inside for maximum privacy. While you're welcome to take the clothing rack and stool outside of the changing room, please do NOT attempt to remove the mirror.

A smart presence sensor is mounted above the mirror. This device detects occupancy to turn the lights on and off. It does not record or transmit any images. If you'd like to verify the device, it's the "Aqara FP1E Presence Sensor."

Light & Softbox

Each booking includes an Aputure 300D Mark II and a 36-inch softbox. For safety reasons, please do not remove the light from its stand, as this may cause injury or damage the equipment. After use, roll up the power cord, hang it on the hook, and return the light to the back room. If the light is damaged, please report it during the Checkout Process so we can replace it promptly.

Seamless Backdrops

To preserve the quality of our backdrops and prevent unnecessary damage please do the following:

  1. Avoid stepping on the paper unless completely necessary. If you need to step on it please use the provided sole cleaner in the back room to remove as much dirt from your shoes as possible.
  2. Guide the paper by grabbing the leader bar as it comes down. This helps the paper not crumple or collide onto any objects, such as the floor or door handle.
  3. Do not step on the curve of the paper, only step on parts of the paper that make solid contact with the ground.
  4. When done, return the remote to the back room to make sure it is not misplaced.

The backdrops on the remote are (1) White, (2) Blue, and (3) Black.

Sonos Speaker

A volume-controlled Sonos speaker is available in the studio for use with any AirPlay-compatible device. To connect, join the studio Wi-Fi and select “Light Loft Sonos” from your AirPlay options.

How do I book the studio?

Simply go to our one of our listing pages and click "Book Now" to select your date, time, and location. You’ll be guided through pricing options, add-ons, and payments.

Can I reschedule or cancel my booking?

Yes, you can cancel or reschedule your booking at any point. You can reschedule once. Once you reschedule, you cannot reschedule again. Cancellations come with a credit refund depending on the amount of days notice you give:

  • More than 7 days: 100% credit refund
  • Between 1 and 7 days: 50% credit refund
  • Same day: No refund

Once you reschedule a booking, you are no longer eligible to receive a credit refund in the case of a future cancellation on that booking.

Can I extend my booking?

Yes, if no one has booked the time after you, you are able to add more time. You can do this before your booking or while your booking is taking place by using the control panel by the door.

How big is the studio?

The Light Loft is approximately 1,100 square feet with 12-foot ceilings.

Can I tour the space before booking?

Yes, we offer limited tour appointments in between reservations. Contact us to schedule a walk-through if you’d like to see the space in person first.

Are pets allowed?

Due to allergies and unexpected accidents, we currently do not open up our studio to pets by default. We can make exceptions with proof of insurance, but you must provide at least 2 days notice.

Can I book for a same-day session?

Yes, if the time slot is available. Same-day discounts may apply. You’ll get instant access as soon as the booking is confirmed.

What happens if I stay past my booking time?

Our system tracks entry/exit times. We have a 10 minute grace period to gather your belongings after your session. This time is not meant for you to continue your activities. If you go over time, we’ll attempt to automatically bill you for additional time. Repeated violations may result in account restrictions.

Can I use someone else’s membership?

No. Membership benefits are non-transferable and tied to your user account. Sharing accounts will result in suspension.

I have a coupon, can I use it after booking?

Unfortunately, discounts must be applied during checkout. If you forgot, cancel and rebook if within the cancellation window.

How many times can I reschedule?

Each booking can be rescheduled once. After that, additional changes aside from adding time are not permitted, and you forfeit your credit refund in the case of a cancellation

Are paper backdrops included?

Yes. You must go through a brief tutorial on how to use the motorized backdrops to extend their longevity. If you do not complete the tutorial, the motors will remain off.

Can I move the furniture around?

Absolutely. We just ask that you are mindful of the floors and don't drag the furniture in a rough way. Just put everything back how you found it before you leave. We provide a reset photo and will charge a restaging fee if left in disarray.

Are the cameras monitored live?

Cameras are monitored periodically to check for rule violations or unsafe/prohibited activities. Footage is kept for 30 days and reviewed if a rule is violated, a support request is made, or damage is reported.

How do I request a camera to be disabled?

Use the “Disable Cameras” option in your reservation page to submit a Privacy Request. Upload proof of insurance at least 24 hours in advance. Approval is solely up to our discretion and rejection may not come with an explanation.

What happens if I unplug or cover a security camera?

Tampering with security systems is a violation of our terms and may result in cancellation without refund and a permanent ban.

Can I bring food and drinks?

Light snacks and drinks are fine, but keep them away from equipment and backdrops. Large meals or catering setups require prior approval.

Is alcohol allowed?

No alcohol is allowed without prior written approval and appropriate insurance. Events involving alcohol must follow city and state guidelines.

What if the studio is left in poor condition by the previous guest?

Please take photos and contact support immediately. We’ll verify via security logs and arrange for cleanup if needed.
